Aerobatic Pilot Rob Holland Perishes in Crash

Scheduled to perform at Langley this weekend, Holland's plane was landing when it crashed. The Federal Aviation Administration, National Transportation Safety Bureau, and the Department of Defense have opened an investigation into the incident.

Including last September's event, Rob Holland has performed at the Owensboro Air Show on three occasions. Here's one of his performances from a 2024 Oshkosh WI air show last October.

This is Rob performing at the Battle Creek Field of Flight Airshow and Balloon Festival during which he raced the Hot Streak II jet truck.

A 13-time U.S. National Aerobatic Champion, Holland discussed his exciting career with Sling Pilot Academy six months ago.

Devastated by the news, Owensboro's Chris Conley, a photographer who works air shows all over the country, said, "We always thought Rob was indestructible," and shared some amazing images of Rob's performance from the 2024 Owensboro Air Show.
