Well, I told you this morning Alan Jackson is making a bluegrass album and our friends at Tasteofcountry.com did some digging and it is a reality, as he has just announced the album and its release date.

Alan told his Twitter followers first to make the big announcement, saying, "Finally! The long-awaited Bluegrass album from AJ comes out on Sept. 24!!" He also tweeted a photo (above) of him and a whole crew of folks standing in a recording studio -- a true picture of what's to come from the 'Don't Rock the Jukebox' singer.

It surprised me when I saw news of it. He is going to have some originals on the CD and covers of the Dillards' 'There Is a Time,' John Anderson's 'Wild And Blue,' and a version of Bill Monroe's 'Blue Moon Of Kentucky.' Can hardly wait for that. Will it be in the Bill Monroe style? Or, the Elvis style? We will find out in September!

Hey, maybe we can get him to come to the International Bluegrass Museum and do a few of the tunes. We will get right on that!
