American Idol Contestant with Owensboro Ties Heading to Hollywood! [VIDEO]

Walker Burroughs auditioned for American Idol in front of Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Katy Perry and he nailed it! His proud family was watching in Owensboro as he advanced.

Cherri Lolley, owner of CherriCare, Inc. in Owensboro was glued to her television just waiting to see when her nephew would take the stage. Cherri didn't have to wait very long. Walker Burroughs, a student at Belmont University, was FIRST to take the mic on American Idol last night. None of us watching at home had to wait long, to hear what an incredible voice Walker has! Walker sat down at the piano and took on Ben Rector's "Love Like This." Then he surprised Lionel and us all with a rendition of "Hello." It was breathtaking.

His performance was a perfect way to open the show. Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Katy Perry all gave him a yes and now Walker is heading to Hollywood. His journey continues and we'll all be watching and cheering him on!
