July 14th, 2022. That's a day that Angie Morris will never forget. That's the day she was diagnosed with Stage 2 Metastatic Breast Cancer and subsequently learned that she must undergo sixteen rounds of chemotherapy, a double mastectomy and post-operative radiation.  It also happens to be the day that she learned just how many friends she has and how they planned to rally around her and love her through it.

Angie's friends and family have been stepping up in multiple, wonderful ways.

Here are a couple of photos from a fundraiser for Angie that was held at Ten O Six last Saturday.

That benefit had breakfast, plate lunches, live music, a silent auction and more.

This Saturday, there's going to be another fundraiser here in town for Angie. It's a car was that's set to take place at the O'Reilly Auto Parts location on Hwy 54 on the east side of Owensboro. It gets underway at 10am.

Angie will be undergoing her second round of chemotherapy treatment on Monday. The last couple of months have certainly been a whirlwind for her. But, she has managed to take the opportunity to reflect on the major outpouring of love and support she has received.

Angie shared her gratitude on social media earlier this week. Here are some excerpts from what she had to say:

I seem to be “all in my feels” these days, so I tried to take a couple of days to compose my thoughts so I could say all the right things. BUT I have decided no words will ever be able to express the overwhelming amount of love and support I felt this weekend. To all my family/friends/co-workers/well wishers, I offer a huge heartfelt thanks!!!  I guess sometimes it takes something like this to open your eyes to all the love you are surrounded by.

As the song says, "I get by with a little help from my friends."

It's evident that Angie has plenty of friends in her corner and there's no doubt that they're going to make sure she gets by and better.
