If you love making discoveries like I love making discoveries, you must have a field day at antique stores. Even if I don't leave with anything--some stuff is PROHIBITIVELY expensive--the browsing is still a blast...and somewhat comforting.

You know, Kentucky has quite an impressive antique trail about which it can brag. And it spans a good deal of the Commonwealth. The KET series Kentucky Collectibles has covered quite a few of them.

A couple of very popular establishments in Owensboro are also on that trail--Preservation Station and Owensboro Antiques & More.

While we are replete with amazing retail places where some of the most beautiful antiques in Kentucky await their next owners, there are also special events that highlight how rich the antique market is in the Commonwealth.

One such event is the West Kentucky Antique & Vintage Market. And it's scheduled for June 23rd and 24th in Madisonville at the West Kentucky Archery Complex. And THIS is exciting...it will happen in conjunction with the massive Highway 41 Yard Sale.

Hosted by the Hopkins County Tourist and Convention Commission, the West Kentucky Antique & Vintage Market will be a treasure trove of vintage goods, glassware, old advertising signs, collectibles, country store items, and so much more. It seems the organizers have left no stone unturned for this massive event.

Plus, it's a rain-or-shine event, as it will be held indoors, so weather will not be an issue. So carve out enough time on June 23rd from 9 AM to 5 PM and June 24th from 9 AM to 3 PM.

Oh, and make room for all the incredible treasures you'll be bringing home.
