Maybe the headline says it all. The University of Kentucky Athletic Department just ponied up another $8 million for coach John Calipari's services to extend through, at least, 2022. Meanwhile...

...the New Orleans Pelicans fired head coach Monty Williams after taking that franchise to the post-season for the first time since 2011.

That that sentence, in an of itself, makes no sense is a conversation for another day.

Okay, so the Pelicans need a coach.

And you realize that former UK superstar Anthony Davis is a current New Orleans superstar, right?

And who coached Davis at Kentucky? Yep, circle gets the square! JOHN CALIPARI!

But would Coach Cal take the job? He's got another terrific recruiting class coming in and now he's hot after Caleb Swanigan, who just decommitted from Michigan State.

That doesn't sound like the activity of a man who's about to make a major change.

On the other hand, there's this blog that details why a Calipari move to the Big Easy would make sense.

There are fascinating points made in this piece. Things I never considered.

Still and all, it's awfully late for this kind of move. Plus, I have a feeling that when and if Calipari makes a move, he'll give UK plenty of time to find the right fit.
