Today was Media Day at Holiday World and my friends Eric and Josh gave me a behind-the-scenes tour of Cheetah Chase, the park's brand new water coaster.  As a matter of fact, Cheetah Chase is the first "launched" water coaster in the world.  As you'll see from the photos, it looks INCREDIBLE!

The Cheetah Chase

Holiday World officially opens to the public on Wednesday, June 17th, though PLATINUM Season Pass holders get to head over on Sunday, June 14th!

Splashin' Safari is set to open to the public on July 4th and, when it does, thrill seekers will get their first opportunities to ride Cheetah Chase.  But I have some inside scoop for you from my visit today.  You are going to get wet.  REALLY WET!!!  According to Eric and Josh (who have both taken test rides already), there's a really cool surprise early in the ride.  Because the water coaster is launched and propelled by rushing jets of water, when you get to the top of the first hill all that water used to get you there basically comes up over the top of you and soaks you!  Plus, I asked the guys what they thought of the Cheetah Chase and their initial rides on it.  Josh summed it up quickly.  He said, "It's incredible!"

Well, after getting an up close and personal tour of the track today, I can tell you this for sure.  I am ready to ride Cheetah Chase!!

Here's a virtual look of how the ride will work:
