Owensboro’s Moonlite BBQ Named Among the ‘Best in Kentucky’

I wish I could remember where I was the other day because the barbecue that was served up came with two bottles of sauce. One was Texas-inspired, and the other was an Alabama white sauce. I enjoyed both very much. I've also tried and enjoyed Memphis barbecue. (I'm not a fan of North Carolina barbecue; it's a thing, so I thought I'd throw it in.)

Here's the bottom line...Owensboro is not the only place in the U.S. where you can get excellent barbecue, but I will always put it up against anyone else's. I'm a longtime fan, born and bred. And my hometown barbecue is my favorite.

So when one of our awesome barbecue joints receives recognition from outside our county's borders, I'm not surprised. This time, the hosannas are for Moonlite Bar-B-Q on West Parrish Avenue, and they come from Kentucky Living, the premier publication focusing on the Commonwealth. In its September issue, the online magazine will present its "Best in Kentucky" winners. In it, Moonlite has been named the best barbecue in Kentucky.
