There’s a Fun Kickball Tournament Coming to Owensboro, KY

When I was a kid growing up on the eastern side of Daviess County, my friends and I used to love playing kickball. Sure, we played baseball and softball too, but kickball was the sport that EVERYONE could play.

It's in the spirit of fun and inclusiveness that Beverly's Hearty Slice is hosting its 2024 Kickball Tournament.

Beverly's Hearty Slice, an Owensboro nonprofit dedicated to "spreading positivity, celebrating diversity, and providing hope", is gearing up for another exciting fundraiser that pits teams of coworkers and friends against each other on the field. Those who participated in 2023 will attest that the tournament was "a blast and COMPETITIVE!"

Registrations are currently being accepted for the 2024 event. Teams of 12 are eligible and each team MUST contain at least two female players. The grand prize for this year's winning team is going to be $500 and, of course, a trophy!

The tournament is set for Saturday, August 24th and entry fees and registrations are due a month prior to that- by July 24th, 2024.  The event will feature a double elimination tournament bracket, plus a 50/50 raffle, concession stand and more.

As you can see from the official flier, the entry fee per team is $250 and it can be paid via Venmo or by check made payable to Beverly's Hearty Slice. All teams will be required to sign a waiver, which will be filled out on game day.

The Beverly's Hearty Slice Kickball Tournament will take place at Chautauqua Park at 1201 Bluff Avenue in Owensboro.
