‘Slice’ Your Way Through a Halloween Spooktacular in Owensboro, KY

If you're making your Halloween list and checking it twice, your kids are going to want you to make sure this event is on it. Beverly's Hearty Slice, an Owensboro-based nonprofit, has announced plans for their 2024 Halloween Spooktacular! It's coming up Friday, October 18th at Kendall Perkins Park.

Beverly's Hearty Slice was created by Travis Owsley, who was inspired by his mother's long history of feeding her friends, neighbors and community members. To keep her spirit alive and well, Travis created the nonprofit, partnered with Little Caesar's and started having huge pizza parties and neighborhood feeds. Today, Beverly's Hearty Slice hosts a variety of events in town "dedicated to spreading positivity, celebrating diversity, and providing hope!"

The Halloween Spooktacular is made possible with help of community partners just like Little Caesar's, who will be there with free pizza and Pepsi. Other partners have stepped up as well, including Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline (the title sponsor).

Over the weekend, Halloween Havoc donated a tremendous amount of costumes for the event (roughly 400) so that "NO kid will go without this year." The Magical Memories Character Co. will be on hand as well for photo ops with some of the most popular characters from Disney. There will be face painting, candy, and Kahawa Java Shop will be there with hot chocolate.

Plus, there's going to be a raffle with six Walmart gift cards up for grabs.

The Halloween Spooktacular gets underway at 5:30pm and you're invited to "come on out for a scary good time!"
