Here at WBKR, we're gearing up for Labor Day Weekend and you know what that means.  It's Blast from the Past Weekend here on The Country Station, 92.5 WBKR and we're going to be spend the weekend playing your favorite classic country songs.

Dave Spencer officially gets the party started Friday evening at 5pm and Blast from the Past Weekend runs through midnight on Labor Day!  That's nearly 80 hours of the classic country hits that you love!

So, here's a fun way for you to get involved.  We want to know exactly what songs you want to hear.

Here, I'll go first!  I'll share three songs that I look forward to hearing each Blast from the Past Weekend.  And, yes.  I'll admit it.  I love me some old school country divas.  And these three are right at the very top.

The first is my absolute favorite Tanya Tucker song of all-time.  Anyone else obsessed with Lizzie and the Rainman?  I. LOVE. THIS. SONG!  For me, it's a Blast from the Past Weekend fave.

Another song I adore is Sammi Smith's "Help Me Make It Through the Night."  Fun fact- this song was written by the incredibly gifted Kris Kristofferson, but Sammi's version is, for my money, the definitive version.  The melody's haunting and beautiful and Sammi's voice is a silky as that "ribbon" in her hair.

And, finally, another one of my all-time favorites comes from Juice Newton.  And while it would be easy to choose "Angel of the Morning", I have to cast my vote for her song "The Sweetest Thing."  This woman's voice is power, magic.

So, there are my three requests for Blast from the Past Weekend.  Make sure you send us yours.  Then, tune into WBKR all weekend long.  You just may hear your song with a fun shout out for you for requesting it.
