OK, this is HILARIOUS! We cannot wait for the first-ever Pre-Derby Hobby Horse Race hosted by our friends at Brasher's Lil Nashville. Nobody knows how to throw a party like Andy, Tamarra, and their fabulous crew, so you know this is gonna be a dang good time!

It's goin' down May 2nd at 2 pm, so get to training now! I know the jockeys and horses work hard their entire lives for the most exciting two minutes in sports. However, with a little liquid courage, you can channel your inner Secretariat right down Second Street in Downtown Owensboro.

No REAL horses will be involved, though, just the stuffed ones on sticks. Did you know there are actual 'Hobby Horsing' competitions around the world? It is super popular in countries like Finland, Sweden, Germany, and the UK. In the past year, the new sport has been catching on here in the United States.

I know you want to hop on the trend! (pun-intended, sorry) It will be wilder than the infield, but I will be broadcasting live to bring you all the action! Cannot wait! You must be over 21 to participate, and entries are only $10.

There will be prizes for categories like Best Dressed Jockey, Best Decorated Horse, Crowd Favorite Final, and of course, the winner of the Derby Dash! For more information, you can visit the Facebook event page or follow Brasher's Lil Nashville. Otherwise, I will see you there with my trusty steed! (My son made him in Kindergarten from a pool noodle and some googly eyes!)
