Braxton Rhodes Receives Heartwarming Community Support Post ATV Accident
Family, friends, classmates, and teachers gathered for a prayer vigil this week in the hope of complete healing for Braxton Rhodes of Whitesville. Braxton was involved in an ATV accident on Thursday evening where he was then flown to Norton Children's Hospital in Louisville. The young man is being treated for various injuries. As the family focuses on his medical care the community is coming together to show support.
BRAXTON'S JOURNEY
I've been following Braxton's journey over the last week. Praying for his pain and recovery. Praying for peace for his family. Megan and Rodney have one mission. See their son through his medical journey and bring him home healed. This will and has taken time and money. Megan shared his progress the day after the accident.
"He is doing okay and has been in good spirits but broke a femur and fractured several other bones. He has some deep lacerations that will be cleaned and fixed while in surgery. He has a long road ahead of him but he was very lucky and blessed it was not worse. He had a head CT this morning to make sure everything was okay there and it was! Keep the prayers coming for a safe surgery and quick recovery!"
She went on to thank those who took care of Braxton and his friends after the accident.
"I want to give a huge thanks to the Whiteville and Daviess County Fire Departments and the Air Evac Lifeteam 92- Breckinridge County, KY. These guys were amazing and took great care of all the boys!"
Since Thursday's accident, the Whitesville community has rallied for the family. #BraxtonStrong
FUNDRAISER PLANNED FOR RHODES FAMILY
The family should only be worrying about Braxton. His well-being is the only priority right now. While Megan and Rodney focus on Braxton's care, their responsibilities at home don't stop. A fundraiser has been set up to help ease the financial burden for the family on August 10th, 2024. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to the Rhodes family. This is a humble family and besides prayers, would never ask anyone for anything. But, that's not how it goes when you have a tribe of people that want to help.
Simply Doorable Pens By Lily will be set up and donate 1/2 the proceeds to the family!
We'll keep you posted as more fundraisers pop up. Please keep Braxton and the Rhodes family in your prayers.
