Meet The Kentucky Man With an Impressive Collection of PEZ Dispensers
I have known my friend Brian Beck since 1989. I didn't know he had a massive collection of PEZ dispensers until last week. It's taken 36 years! Honestly, I'm not even sure the word 'massive' does Brian's impressive collection justice. His dispensers pay tribute to some of the most iconic real people and fictional characters in our history.
So, throw your head back and enjoy this big piece of pop culture candy!
THE HISTORY OF PEZ
Brian admits he doesn't remember exactly when he got his first PEZ dispenser or when he officially started collecting them. I can tell you, because he and I are close to the same age, that It was a long time ago. It was WAY back when he was a kid. LOL!
He recalls, "I think I got a few for Christmas one year in my stocking. And then it just kept going." He got some for his birthdays and would occasionally snag some at various stores when he was shopping. He says, "Then I realized- WOW!- I have a lot of these."
Many years later, he landed a job working in Human Resources and got a private office. Knowing that the world of HR can be a little daunting and 'ominous', he decided to bring in his PEZ dispensers to help lighten the mood. As soon as his coworkers noticed the collection, they started adding to it. Today, that collection is now taking up a couple of bookshelves.
A MASSIVE PEZ COLLECTION IN KENTUCKY
Brian recently shared this photo on social media.

A friend asked, "OMG! How many do you have?" Brian answered, "537."
I asked him if he has any favorites. With a collection that large, it could potentially be difficult to choose. However, Brian narrowed it down to two different sets.
He loves his Lord of the Rings collection.
I have to be honest. I obsessed with it too. If he goes to the great PEZ factory in the sky before I do, I may see if a fellow Sip Ep can worm his way into Brian's Last Will and Testament.
Brian is also really fond of his Star Wars collection. Check this out!
Though he loves both of those collections, Brian's absolute favorite dispenser may be this one.
He says, "I think my most prized one would be Marilyn Monroe. I got one just because my mom is obsessed with her and it reminds me of her."
With so many PEZ dispensers sharing shelf space in Brian's office, his friend Kristi Carpenter asked this, "How do you keep from them all falling over all the time? I see one accidental tap and the whole collection toppling over."
Brian confirmed, "It's a domino effect for sure."
