Camp Country 2017 is in the books. The weather was simply amazing and the turnout, equally so. And there isn't a better location than Diamond Lake Campground and Resort.

Day two of Camp Country began with a 27-team double-elimination Cornhole Tournament, and did we EVER have some excellent players.

I'm lousy at cornhole--my aim is crap--so it was a LOT of fun watching these folks really zero in with their laser focus and get it done.

The photo below is of our top three teams.

From left to right we have second-place finishers, Ricky Evans and Kentucky state cornhole champ Karen English; our winners, C.L. Thomas and Rob Russell, and third-place finishers, Blake Minton and Clint Wilson.

$150 was awarded to first place, $90 to second place, and $30 to third place.

Jerry Morris and the Angels for Ashley Cooking Team were also on hand at the Swim City Pavilion at Diamond Lake and they were cooking up Boston butt, ribs, chickens, hamburgers to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Combined with what they took in from the Friday night fish fry, Jerry and his team raised more than $4500 plus a little over $900 collected at the game show Saturday night at the Good Time Theater.

What an incredible time. We can't 'til next year!
