If you were to visit Chicago and focus only on museums, you would enjoy a richly rewarding experience in the Windy City. No joke, you could make a quick vacation out of it because there are so many, and the variety is off the charts.

Museum of Ice Cream

My favorite is the Museum of Science and Industry, but do not sleep on the Chicago museum devoted to everybody's favorite sweet treat (I'm assuming)...ice cream. You scream, I scream, we all scream for the Museum of Ice Cream. Appropriately enough, it's pink, inside and out.

Inside the Museum of Ice Cream

Since you won't settle for just an image of the facade and the swag rack, and neither will I, let's take a deep dive into the ice cream. And don't worry if you feel like you're in some kind of Willie Wonka wonderland because that may be the point.

What to Expect at the Museum of Ice Cream

Chicago's Museum of Ice Cream features 14-plus interactive playscapes, unlimited ice cream (I'm already sold), exclusive and original sweet treats, and the Sprinkle Pool. Yes, it's what you think it is. It's one of many museum attractions this WGN reporter enjoyed when it opened three years ago.

By the way, that signature ice cream hot dog is hot dog-flavored ice cream served in an actual bun. It sounds weird, I know, but fans keep coming back for more.

Chicago is a wonderland and rewards visitors who stay multiple days. On your next getaway, and I've never been more serious, make sure you leave room for ice cream.
