If you had asked where I thought the "Christmas Capital of the World" is located, I would have guessed somewhere in Germany. But no, it's Strasbourg, France, and I would have still been here next year, guessing. As for the "Christmas Capital of America," I couldn't find an official location so designated. But Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is known as Christmas City, USA, and I'm sure we can all understand why.

The Christmas Capital of Kentucky

While we'll be focusing on one Christmas town in the Commonwealth, I've been through quite a few small and medium-sized towns in Kentucky this holiday season, and everyone has gone for broke with the decorations. I'm very impressed. But there's only one "Christmas Capital of Kentucky," and it would make Charles Dickens proud. That's because it's London.

Christmas in London, KY

The Randy Smith Christmas Parade kicked off the season, and while we don't have an exact number of entries for 2025, the 2023 parade featured more than 130. That tops Owensboro's.

The London festivities also feature an eye-popping drone show, an event that happens multiple times during the year to celebrate a variety of occasions.

In 2023, London was named among the most Christmassy small towns in Kentucky by Southern Living Magazine. Last year, they earned the title of "Christmas Capital of Kentucky."

I've visited London, Kentucky, one time, but it was in August. Still, I was impressed, as I often am when I visit small towns in the Commonwealth. I'm not sure I'll make it to the "Christmas Capital of Kentucky" this holiday season, but it's clear I need to make sure I get there next year.
