This weekend, we're inviting you to stop by the WBKR studios and help support a great group of young athletes!

The College View Middle School Cross Country Team is hosting a donation car wash on Saturday, August 1, right here in the WBKR parking lot. The team will be scrubbing, rinsing, drying, and shining vehicles from 9:00 a.m. until Noon, with every donation helping support their upcoming season.

Whether your car is covered in dust, bug splatters, or needs a little TLC, this is a great excuse to get it cleaned while supporting a hardworking group of student runners.

Cross country may be an individual sport when the race begins, but it takes an entire community to help a team get to the starting line! Your donations help with things like equipment, travel expenses, race entry fees, and other team needs throughout the season.

So grab your keys, swing by the WBKR studios Saturday morning, and let the College View Middle School Cross Country team make your ride sparkle. Every dollar stays with the team, and every donation makes a difference.

LOOK: See how much gasoline cost the year you started driving

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.

Read on to explore the cost of gas over time and rediscover just how much a gallon was when you first started driving.
