Cooler Heads (Now) Prevail in the Country

By now, you may have heard about hip-hop star Chris Brown's meltdown in the Good Morning America green room. That behavior would never play in country music in 2011.

Yes, there has always existed the folklore surrounding Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings and their drug-fueled exploits of the 60s. But both gentlemen cleaned up their acts. In fact, all of their contemporaries did--Hank Williams Jr. even had a big hit about that very turnaround called "All My Rowdy Friends Have Settled Down." But luckily, we don't have to deal with anyone like Chris Brown. I doubt we'll ever see Jason Aldean disappear into a dressing room to throw a chair at a mirror while screaming, "I can't believe Robin Roberts asked me about my favorite color!!!! That tears it!!!" Cue the sound effects.
