I don't know about you, but I am beyond ready for this weather to take a turn away from humid 90-plus degree days. That first crispy morning of fall means we all breathe a collective sigh of relief. Plus, that means that pumpkin-spiced lattes, pumpkin bread, apple pies, and other seasonal favorites are just around the corner.

If you are counting down the days til autumn, you may already be looking ahead to festivals and events. I love a good stroll through a pumpkin patch and a flannel photo op! Not to mention, we have some of the BEST outdoor markets and farm experiences that are perfect for family fun on the weekends.

The Cottage Farm Stand Fall Fun

The Cottage Farm Stand on Hwy 56 here in Daviess County is always cooking up some fun along with their delicious food, treats, and drinks. Every year, they offer pumpkin painting with the kiddos, and last year they whipped up a haunted corn maze for older thrill-seekers that was SO MUCH FUN! A little terrifying but in the best way.

The Pumpkin & Pickle Festival

Pumpkin & Pickle Festival is one of the most unique events in the area. On September 26th & 27th  from 9 am - 5 pm both days, you can shop arts and crafts booths and small business vendors. There will be live entertainment and fun for the kiddos, as well as food vendors selling lots and lots of pumpkins & pickles.

The event is free, but there is a $5 parking fee. If you want to be a vendor, here is the form to sign up. To learn more or see photos of previous festivals, you can visit www.cottagefarmstand.com or follow The Cottage on Facebook. And stay tuned for more fun announcements as spooky season continues!

Never Have I Ever: Owensboro Edition

I've seen plenty of "Never Have I Ever..." games on Facebook, so it's high time we did one for Owensboro. Give yourself one point for everything you've done.
