Owensboro singer-songwriter Dan Hall is a veteran of the local music scene. Did you know he and his band at the time, Renegade, played the very first Friday After 5? I was glad when Dan said he was able to join us on the morning show because I know most nights he is up late keeping the party going somewhere in the tri-state area.

Usually with his friend and fellow musician, Steven Stewart. Playing together for ten years now, Dan sings lead vocals and guitar, while Steven plays fiddle and fills in on harmonies. They perform popular country/rock covers and also have original music, but what I love most is that they have a unique sound.

Dan's baritone voice has such a genuine quality. I've heard his velvet tone compared to Johnny Cash (which I totally agree with). But there is some gravel in there that makes him sound like...Dan. We love the authenticity. Here he is telling us all about the inspiration behind his song "I Can Do Lonely."

I think that there are lots of folks who can relate to that kind of story. This next clip is of the song itself, and Dan shares some behind-the-scenes info about what it was like to record it at DOLLY PARTON'S STUDIO. Yeah, he used her actual microphone to lay down the vocals. The engineers had some of her in-process work there, and one of her rhinestone denim jackets was framed on the wall. So cool!

"I Can Do Lonely" is so catchy, so relatable, so easy to sing along to, and it sounds amazing. Congratulations fellas! We can't wait to see what comes next. Y'all be sure to follow Dan Hall on social media so you can catch him live around town, show him some love, and enjoy his tunes on all musical platforms.
