DCDC Honors Deputy Murray for Outstanding Service
My 20th High School reunion is happening this year, and while I know the OHS Class of '05 knows how to party, we're gonna have to be on our best behavior! The 2024 Deputy of the Year will be there!

When I saw the shout-out on Facebook yesterday, I just had to share with you all that Veronica "Ronnie" Murray was honored for her hard work and dedication to a VERY challenging job. Jailer Art Maglinger shared these words about my friend and former classmate,
Deputy Murray has served with DCDC for over four years, where she consistently displays initiative, teamwork and strong work ethic in her daily duties. She seeks to maintain a positive attitude and is well respected by her fellow deputies, supervisors and the command staff.
In addition to serving as a deputy jailer, Deputy Murray has also taken on the additional responsibility of Booking. She remains diligent and proactive, where she sets worthwhile standards for other staff to follow. We commend her on her dedicated and exceptional service with DCDC, which benefits Daviess County and the citizens of our community!
I am not surprised by any of those kind words. It takes a special kind of human to work in a detention center, and Ronnie is the best. Of course, she used this honor as a chance to show love to her friends, family, and co-workers,
"I’m very honored and humble to have received this award! I’m grateful to those who have mentored me and helped mold me throughout the years. The brothers and sisters I serve beside are such amazing people, so respectfully I feel like an extension of their dedication to helping others grow and develop. This award is very very much appreciated!"
You can show her some love here on the Facebook post.
And trust me, she deserves it! SO proud of you, Ronnie! We've come a long way from Mrs. Bradshaw's U.S. History class!
