What is Pickleball

Did you know pickleball was born out of summer boredom? Back in 1965, on Bainbridge Island, just a ferry ride from Seattle, three dads (Joel Pritchard, Bill Bell, and Barney McCallum) whipped up a backyard game to keep their kids entertained. Armed with a few paddles, a plastic ball, and some creativity, they unknowingly sparked what would become one of the fastest-growing sports in North America.

Pickleball Pro Tips

New to the game or looking to level up? Here are a few quick tips from our friends at USA Pickleball:

Dink Smart: Mastering the soft shot near the net can win more rallies than a power smash.

Stay Out of the Kitchen (Unless You Have To): The no-volley zone is tricky, so don’t step in unless the ball bounces!

Communication is Key: Call your shots and encourage your partner because pickleball is a team sport!

Paddle Up: Try out different paddle weights until you find what fits your swing best.

Have Fun! Pickleball is social, welcoming, and built for all ages, so don’t forget to enjoy the moment.
