Imagine I am Uncle Sam with my beard and top hat. Pointing at YOU to encourage you to become a poll worker in the upcoming election. You can say you helped your fellow citizens exercise one of their most sacred rights as Americans. And...get a little money in your pocket.

Election Day is November 3rd, 2026, but there are other opportunities to cast your votes as well. From September 19th through October 20th, you can go online and request an absentee ballot should you need one. October 21st-23rd and 26th-28th, there will be excused in-person absentee voting.

Early voting dates & times are as follows:

Thursday, October 29th from 8 AM to 4 PM

Friday, October 30th from 8 AM to 4 PM

Saturday, October 31st from 8 AM to 4 PM

All polling locations will be open on Tuesday, November 3rd, of course, from 6 AM to 6 PM. So, there are PLENTY of chances for us all to do our civic duty. If you want to go above and beyond, here is how you can become one of the 275 poll workers needed for Election Day. As I mentioned earlier, you can earn $200, possibly more if you are chosen to work early voting days.

All Election Workers must attend one mandatory training class in October at WKU Owensboro Campus. There are a couple of dates and times available, and sign-ups are first come, first served. Better get that application in if you want dibs.
