Did You Know Amazon Delivers in the Middle of the Night?
A Louisville friend of mine shared a post on Facebook from an Amazon Flex Driver who was taking her first 3 AM shift to deliver packages! I had no idea this was a thing! Apparently, it has been an option for several years now but is just now available in our neck of the woods.
Many delivery drivers like this new shift because they don't have to deal with the traffic they would encounter during the day, but it is much easier to make a wrong turn! Here is a video of a poor guy who ended up in the middle of a cemetery! Yikes! NO thank you!
You won't notice them in Amazon delivery vans either as these drivers use their own registered vehicles. It could certainly look suspicious as they pull up in front of your house, but don't worry!
Because some homeowners may not be happy with unexpected visitors in the middle of the night, there are drivers who are worried about what they may encounter. If your Ring doorbell notifies you during your beauty sleep, it may just be the arrival of that random gadget you ordered or your subscription of vitamins. Check your tracking before alerting the authorities!
Also, be sure to keep those protective puppies inside if you are expecting a delivery. If the driver does not think they can safely get your package on the porch, they won't be able to leave it.
This night time delivery option appears to only be available for those with Amazon Prime. You can adjust your settings to avoid deliveries after 8 PM if you want to make sure those packages aren't hanging out on the porch until you wake up in the morning. If you're like me and just need that last-minute ordered birthday gift ASAP, leave a Red Bull on your porch for the driver who may be delivering it before the birds wake up!
