Did You Know You Can Deice Your Windshield with a Potato? [Video]
Last night's bout of snow and freezing precipitation caused a lot of windshields to be snowy and icy this morning. Honestly, it drives me crazy to walk outside to my car at five o'clock in the morning and have to scrape ice off my windshield. Well, I was scrolling through Facebook the other day and saw an old Farmers' Almanac hack. It involved a potato, which apparently has a couple of handy uses. It can defog and deice a windshield.
How did I not know this?
Now, how crazy is that? And this video just confirms what the Farmers' Almanac claims. It suggests to rub half of a potato over your car's windshield the night before temperatures are expected to dip below freezing and if the forecast is calling for snow and ice. According to the Almanac, "The sugar from the potato creates a barrier over the window and prevents ice from forming."
That, my friends, is an epic solution.
