I love it when Kentucky's downtown areas undergo upgrades, as long as those upgrades maintain the old-school charm that makes such places unique to their respective towns. In other words, there are towns all over the country that have gone downhill with no upward trajectory either planned or, worse, possible.

Hopkinsville

Fortunately, neither is the case in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. For the Commonwealth's 11th-most populous city, neither should be. Hopkinsville is already a great place to visit for historians, that is, if you like your history mixed with a little controversy and a dash of "other-worldly." To be honest, when it comes to the late, world-renowned clairvoyant Edgar Cayce, it might be more than a dash. You'd certainly get that impression at his museum in downtown Hoptown.

Hopkinsville's Downtown Entertainment District

Well, now, Hopkinsville will be adding a whole lot of entertainment to the fabric of Christian County with the debut of its all-new Downtown Entertainment District.

What to Expect in Hopkinsville's Downtown Entertainment District

Much like "The District" in downtown Owensboro, Hopkinsville's "District" will also allow folks to consume alcoholic beverages downtown as long as those drinks are from one of the participating businesses and inside of a "Downtown Entertainment District" cup, also like Owensboro.

As for the "Entertainment" part, downtown Hopkinsville will come alive with a variety of events, from live music to art shows.

This weekend, food trucks will line the downtown streets for Hoptown at Night. On September 12th and 13th, Hopkinsville will say goodbye to summer in style with the Summer Salute.

And that big goodbye will take place on the heels of all of us saying "hello" to Hopkinsville's Downtown Entertainment District.
