Former Kentucky Mavericks Arrested in Owensboro Drug Bust [Photos]
Owensboro Police have made arrests in connection with an ongoing investigation into a drug trafficking operation. And the men arrested and charged are former members of the Kentucky Mavericks organization.
According to authorities, the Owensboro Police Department Street Crimes Unit, on Monday, executed a search warrant at 1536 W. 3rd Street downtown.
As a result of the search, OPD seized marijuana, cocaine, prescription pills, drug paraphernalia, a handgun, and $1,978.00 in cash from the residence.
Two males were taken into custody and we've learned today that each was a member of the now defunct Kentucky Mavericks.
Alex R. Sanders, was present at the scene and was taken into custody.

Charges: Trafficking in Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (<4 gms cocaine) –Class C Felony (enhancement)
A short time later, officers located Corey T. Wilford during a traffic stop and
arrested him in connection to the case as well.

Trafficking Controlled Substance within 1,000 feet of School – Class D Felony
Trafficking in Marijuana (8oz to <5lbs), 1st offense – Class D Felony
Possession of controlled substance, 3rd degree, drug unspecified – Class A

Drug paraphernalia-buy/possess – Class A Misdemeanor
Both men are currently lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center.
