Daviess County It Takes a Village No Kill Rescue to Offer a Free Microchipping Clinic
If you ever need an excellent example of the benefits of microchipping your pet, you need look no further than the story of the appropriately-named Chip the cat. He was separated from his family for two years, but because he had been chipped, Daviess County It Takes a Village No Kill Rescue located them in Colorado. And now Chip is back where he belongs.
Before this invaluable technology, one could only hope that their pet would return on its own or that some good Samaritan would find it and bring it back. Cats can find their way back, but not from as long a distance as you might believe.
Just microchip your beloved furry family member, and you don't have to worry about leaving it up to chance.
It Takes a Village No Kill Rescue - Free Microchipping
The Daviess County chapter is planning to host a free microchipping clinic. No date has been finalized for the event, but they want to make sure you know it's only microchipping. No vaccines at this clinic.
If you have a dog or a cat that hasn't been microchipped, and it's on your to-do list, I located a demonstration from YouTube's Dan the Veterinarian.
Collars and tags fall off, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't have them. You should, and I'm sure that's not news to you. But the microchip offers the lifelong benefit of security in knowing you can track your pet down if it wanders away. Plus, if you're an international traveler, most countries require it.
