Friday After 5 Releases Statement on New Age Restrictions
Earlier this week, we shared details about a new age restriction policy affecting Friday After 5 and areas near the Owensboro Convention Center. Yesterday, Friday After 5 released an official statement about the measure.
From Friday After 5:
We at Friday After 5 are partnering with the RiverPark Center and the Owensboro Convention Center to support the new age restriction policy at both venues to ensure the safety of everyone enjoying the event each Friday night along the Owensboro riverfront. The new age restriction for unaccompanied minors is a result of some unruly teens this season. Thanks to the diligent work of the Owensboro Police Department, event organizers, and the community; the juveniles that have been causing problems in recent weeks have been identified. Efforts will continue from law enforcement to continue to identify anyone causing disturbances and those individuals will also face legal actions.
Friday After 5 continues to be a tremendous event for our community for people to gather and enjoy a fun and safe atmosphere along the renowned Owensboro riverfront. Both the RiverPark Center and the Owensboro Convention Center will allow guests of all ages, however; anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult over the age of 21.
