If you are a fan of Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2, and you have Netflix, you better get to busting heads fast because they will be gone from the streaming site on October 1st. I find it kind of strange since, A) why get rid of these two in October? and B) this year marks the 30th anniversary of the original's release. The streaming service does a big purge about every six months, so this was bound to happen. Nevertheless, the site will be adding a huge slate of new titles in place of the departed ones.

As you may or may not know, I've had a definite love/hate relationship with Netflix, and honestly, I will now and then watch a movie on the service. Me and millions of users are in it more now for the original series and we are catching up on various TV shows. Speaking of TV shows, the following will be gone Wednesday: the original Law & Order, and its spin-offs, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. No big deal, all of these shows can be seen somewhere everyday in syndication. Among those shows being added: Arrow: Season 2, Freakshow: Season 2, the one and only season of CBS' Hostages, Last Man Standing: Season 3, Reign: Season 1, the last season of Raising Hope AND season 6 of my new favorite show, Sons of Anarchy. FX's highest rated series ever is ending after its current season which began airing about three weeks ago. SCORE!

In the movie department, fans of Mean Girls will be disappointed, along with fans of Fatal Attraction, Eight Men Out (but the MLB playoffs are just starting!), Patriot Games, The Hunger Games, but part 2, Catching Fire will join the service. I guess I need to finally jump on the Katniss train. I'm also excited, because Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained will be among the newer releases being added. And finally, October 10th will see the Netflix debut of comedian Chelsea Handler and her stand-up special Uganda Be Kidding Me, here's a preview NSFW!

Happy streaming! FYI: Hocus Pocus is still NOT available on Netflix, not cool.
