I've said it before and I'll say it again...Kentucky has some of the most beautiful lakes I've ever seen.

And there are so many of them nearby like Rough River Lake, Lake Malone, Nolan River Lake, and, of course, Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley.

But how far have you ventured out into the Commonwealth to discover those lakes that AREN'T just a hop, skip, and a jump away?

I did that one time because I had never been to Green River Lake and I wanted to see where a river we all know originated.

Green River Lake has amazing geography and there's plenty to do.

Located near Campbellsville (where the marina is), Green River Lake, naturally, offers a variety of accommodations.

And they include FLOATING CABINS.

I think that would be a blast! Maybe you agree.

Anyway, if Green River Lake and Marina is a destination you've never considered, take another look. While there's no real "straight shot" from here to Campbellsville, the distance really isn't prohibitive at all.

I'm seeing a weekend getaway in the future.

Is it yours? Is it mine?
