The Kentucky State Fair in Louisville is a tradition that rarely ever skews away from its packed schedule of activities, but with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the fair will look a little different this August.

Capacity this year will be reduced by 50 percent. The square footage per person will be increased from seven square feet to fifteen. Indoor spaces, such as at the Exposition Center, will be reduced up to 82 percent for sufficient social distancing space. Many events that would normally be held indoors will be reprogrammed and will be moved outdoors.

Masks will be required of all staff, vendors, judges, and livestock participants. Gloves will be worn by staff to accept physical payment for goods.

Visitors are suggested to wear masks.

Hand sanitizer and handwashing stations will be available throughout the property.

The World's Championship Horse Show will be held without spectators at Freedom Hall. Only individual trainers and up to 10 members of the media will be allowed at the event, a 98 percent capacity reduction.

As for the outside concert series, the concert area will be set up to accommodate social distancing guidelines, several projector screens will be added to allow for extended seating areas. The capacity will be reduced 42 percent from last year.
