You Can Take a Hot Air Balloon Ride for Just $15 at This Kentucky Event

If you've ever wanted to take a hot air balloon ride, but haven't quite checked that off your bucket list, this might be your chance!

Because Madisonville Illuminated is bringing a sky full of colorful hot air balloons to Mahr Park on Friday, August 28, and you can actually take a balloon ride for just $15 per person.

I've jumped out of a plane, but I've never taken a hot air balloon ride. It's definitely on my bucket list! How about you?

This could be the perfect time to give it a try.

Madisonville Illuminated Hot Air Balloon Glow is happening from 4 to 10 p.m. at Mahr Park's Event Barn B, and admission is FREE. You'll get to see the balloons light up the evening, listen to live music, grab something delicious to eat, do a little shopping, and enjoy a night out with the family.

There's something pretty magical about watching those giant, colorful balloons fill the sky, and then seeing them glow as the evening darkens.

Come Early and Stay a While

The balloons may be the big attraction, but you won't want to show up right before the glow and miss everything else happening at Mahr Park.

Madisonville Illuminated will have more than 25 food and retail vendors throughout the event.

If food isn't enough to keep you busy while you're waiting for the balloons, there will also be plenty of retail and activity vendors.

Able Revival Curated Mobile Boutique will be there, along with Face Painting by Claire, Mad City Screen Printing, Misty's Lovely Things, The Orange Blossom Boutique, and Wildflower & Redwoods Boutique.

So grab dinner, find something fun to take home, let the kids get their faces painted, and then settle in for an evening of music and balloons.

And There's Live Music Too!

Madisonville Illuminated isn't just about looking up at the sky.

There will be live music throughout the evening, with Sarah Beth Brewer taking the stage at 5 p.m. and Josh Orion performing at 7 p.m.

That gives you plenty of time to grab some food, listen to some music, wander around the vendors, and enjoy Mahr Park before the evening really lights up.
