Nominate Someone in the Western Kentucky Area Who Deserves a Virtual High Five

Who is your hero? Is it a grocery store clerk that goes the extra mile, a teacher who always has a smile, a farmer who puts food on the table, or a grandma who never lets you down? If a hero has touched your life in a special way we want to honor them with a special High Five.

As you know, a hero can be anyone. That's why here at WBKR, we've teamed up with Jiffy Lube to honor the special heroes in our lives with a Virtual High Five. The kind, courageous, thoughtful, dependable, caring, and remarkable people in our area. If your hero nominee has done something extraordinary, we want to share their story. Over the past two years, there have been countless heroes making a difference every day.

Different Types of Heroes to Honor

You can honor a helpful sales clerk, a friendly driver, an inspiring farmer, a kind restaurant server, and a fantastic bus driver. All heroes don't wear capes! They come in all shapes and sizes. Who's your hero?

How about honoring a doctor or nurse with a mission to serve, a dedicated teacher, a mother who always believes in you, your local pastor who gives you strength, or a military member or veteran who protects our country? All would be quite worthy of a nomination!

Do your grandparents impact your life, does dad go above and beyond, do you miss your hard-working truck driver, and are you scared for your firefighter or policeman who knowingly and voluntarily risks his or her own life when they leave the house?

These are just some examples of everyday heroes. If you have someone in your life who has been working endless hours to help others, someone you think deserves special attention, or somebody who's making a difference as a frontline worker, WBKR and Jiffy Lube wants to tell their story, and we are looking for nominations leading up to National High Five Day.

Starting today through April 17th, 2022, you'll have the chance to upload a hero and give them a virtual "high five" at WBKR.com and through the WBKR app. Then leading up to National High Five day, during the week of April 18th through April 22nd, fifteen heroes (via submissions at random draw) will receive an on-air spotlight, plus a feature article to honor and thank them for what they do!
