Well, this is different.  Most folks have turkey on their Thanksgiving tables.  There's no doubt about the fact that's the standard tradition.  However, there are variations on that theme that are growing increasingly more popular.  Variations like the Turducken, which is a unique blend of turkey, duck and chicken.  But how about this?  Have you ever thought about having smoked alligator for Thanksgiving?  Well, thanks to one Owensboro business, you can!

Now, I'm not going to lie.  I am a little intrigued by the thought of a "bacon-wrapped gator stuffed with Crawfish Cornbread Dressing".  Other folks must be too.  Bubba Gandy's Owensboro location is already taking orders for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I tried alligator a couple of years ago at the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival.  I was fully expecting it to taste like chicken.  LOL!.  But it didn't really, at least to me.  I found it a little more potent and pungent than chicken.  Some folks suggest it tastes like rattlesnake (What?  Who's eating rattlesnake?).  Others say it has a bit of a fishy taste to it.  I definitely thought so.

Now, a question for you.  For Thanksgiving, would you toss your turkey aside and serve alligator instead?
