I saw a meme the other day that said, "I needed to relax so I put on my fuzzy socks, poured a glass of wine, and turned on a murder documentary." Some folks would say tales of true crime are anything but relaxing, however as a genre, more people are diving into gruesome tales than ever before.

I am part of that growing trend of media as I understand interest in learning about a unique case. I want to know all of the horrible details. I want to know the reasons behind why the evil perpetrator did what they did. I want to know how to stay safe in situations I may have never thought about before.

If you enjoy true crime as well and want to learn about some of the most prolific murderers in history, The Victory Theatre is hosting The Psychology of a Murderer. Dr. Rachel Toles, a professional forensic psychologist will present case studies on killers like Jeffrey Dahmer, Aaron Hernandez, Chris Watts, Aileen Wuornos, the Menendez Brothers, and more.

The goal is to try to understand or at least explore the minds of these people who committed horrible crimes against their victims. What leads someone to take another life? Is it a combination of nature vs. nurture or a consequence of terrible circumstances?
