I've always said that we should never stop marveling at technology. From the very common act of driving your vehicle to being a passenger in an airplane to all the information we possess in a device we can hold in our hands, we should ALWAYS appreciate how far we've come.

But we've come quite a distance in an area that has nothing to do with technology. However, it is also the kind of thing about which we would have said, "Never gonna happen," thirty years ago--or maybe even more recently. I'm talking about the advent of bars in grocery stores.

I'm speaking specifically, though, about Kro-Bars. In a million years, I never would have imagined this idea would take off until it did, and quickly. If you're shopping in pairs, and one half isn't into it, then he or she can park it at the Kroger bar and chill until the shopping trip ends.

Bars inside of Kroger stores must be a relative new experience elsewhere; it's been a staple in the Owensboro midtown location for years.

Are Target Stores Adding to Bars at Select Locations?

When I saw a thread on, well, Threads about Target adding bars to select locations, my attention was secured. I mean, the popular retailer DID once have a big lunch counter, and many of them have Starbucks locations within their stores now. Why not a bar? I was even more convinced by this image:

You could call it the Tar-Bar and "target" those same shopping companions who don't feel much like shopping, just like Kroger does. And how PERFECT is "Targarita"? That alone should make this a go, but "a go" it is not.

Nowhere online could I find any confirmation about adult libations being added to the Target shopping experience anytime soon. Of course, the big box giant hasn't debunked it either, and a convincing image of an adult beverage that makes perfect sense might fuel the belief that it's happening. But take a look at this:

Shot down.

Always look for "parody site" or, in this case, the name of the original poster. Redditers are forever busy and can be very helpful in situations like this. I'd STILL like to have a "Targarita," but I guess I'll put it on the backburner.
