The Daviess County Public Library is serving up all kinds of fun this summer. Read, ROAR, and Explore has turned the library into Jurassic Park with dinosaur fun for all ages and their summer reading program.

DCPL Summer Reading Program 2024

Kids have the chance to win prizes just for logging their time spent reading in June and July. There are all kinds of things up for grabs like Lego sets, Bluey toys, science kits, musical instruments and more! You can sign up by visiting their website here: https://dcplibrary.beanstack.org/reader365.

Family Fun At DCPL This Summer

While books are the DCPL's expertise, they know how to have a good time! Their summer calendar is jam-packed with events for toddlers, preschoolers, elementary kiddos, teens, adults, and seniors. Events with crafts, competitions, education and fellowship. You can even expect a Carnival themed inflatable night, a foam party extravaganza, and a visit from the dinosaurs with Feller Express!

Food Trucks at the Library

It can be hard to read on an empty stomach. Focus goes out the window with the rumbling of bellies in a quiet room. So, they have planned a "Food Truck Summer" to keep us all fed and happy. It's a great way to support local small businesses with your lunch money too. Here is the list of vendors you can expect to find serving it up at the library.

  • J's Good Grub
  • Basil's Food Truck
  • Freaky Tiki Hawaiian Shaved Ice
  • Crowe's Nest
  • Torera Hibachi
  • Mi Cocinita
  • Auntie Anne's Pretzels
  • Taqueria La Bendicion De Dios
  • Firehouse 29 BBQ & More
  • Hello Pop!

And here's the calendar so you can gameplan lunch at the library the next couple of months. Yum!
