The River City Pride Parade and Festival are making their glorious and colorful return to Evansville for 2024.

Meet River City Pride

River City Pride is an LGBTQIA+ organization in Evansville, Indiana that focuses to unite, educate, and serve the community, and currently the process of planning the 2024 Pride Festival and Parade is underway!

Evansville's First-Ever Pride Parade and Festival

River City Pride hosted Evansville's first-ever Pride Parade and Festival in 2019. It was an incredible day full of joy, love, and celebration for the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies. The streets were lined with people cheering as the parade made its way through downtown Evansville and once the parade came to a close, the festival began!

2020 Was The Year of Cancelations & 2021 Brought a Pivot

In 2020, the pandemic forced event organizers to cancel the event. In 2021, organizers had to pivot as large gatherings still weren't the safest at that time so the Pride celebration was held virtually.

The Festivities Returned to Downtown Evansville

We were so excited that River City Pride made a triumphant return in 2022 with the Pride Parade and Festival. We were excited to have been a part of such a beautiful and inclusive event. 2023 brought a change of location for the celebration with the festival and main stage taking place on Main Street between Second and Riverside Drive. It is here that the 2024 festivities will once again take place on June 1, 2024.

We are thrilled to once again host the River City Pride Festival & Parade in Downtown Evansville. This event is not just a celebration; it's a testament to our community's commitment to diversity, acceptance, and equality. We invite everyone to join us for a day of joy, love, and togetherness. - Dawn Schwindel, RCP President

2023 River City Pride Parade and Festival

On Saturday, June 3, 2023, the city of Evansville came together for a vibrant and colorful day of love and inclusivity in support of our LGBTQIA+ community. The day kicked off with a parade and then continued with a full day of festival excitement from vendor booths to drag shows and everything in between, including a featured performance by A'Keria C. Davenport of RuPaul's Drag Race Season 11 and RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars Season 6. It was a beautiful day full of beautiful people and Tymeallo Studios captured that beauty perfectly, and with permission, we are sharing some of the photos from the day's events here with you.
