Newburgh Boutique Mulberry Jeans Announces Big Changes After 24 Years

This week, longtime Newburgh business owner Gina McCalister shared that she is taking a step back and making some changes at Mulberry Jeans Accents.

Mulberry Jeans Has Been a Staple in Warrick County

Mulberry Jeans has been part of the Warrick County community for 24 years. Gina told me she started in a small downtown building before eventually purchasing their current location and expanding multiple times over the years.

Now, she says, it is time to scale things back.

Owner Plans to Slow Down and Focus on Life Outside the Shop

After years of working 70-plus hours a week, Gina is ready to make more time for herself. She mentioned wanting to focus on things she enjoys, like wildlife photography and kayaking, which have taken a back seat while running the business.

Store Downsizing and Summer Remodel Plans

As part of the transition, Mulberry Jeans will begin reducing inventory and will temporarily close for a few weeks this summer for a remodel.

During that time, they plan to rework the space by adding walls and offering part of the building as retail space for another business.

What Customers Can Expect Moving Forward

Gina says they do plan to keep their popular coffees, teas, and a selection of gifts, but the store will look noticeably smaller once the changes are complete.

They are also adjusting their hours. Moving forward, the shop will be closed on Sundays and Mondays, with plans to potentially reduce hours even more down the road.

After more than two decades in the community, this marks a new chapter for both Gina and Mulberry Jeans. Visit them this spring for their inventory reduction sale.
