Jake Owen may end his summer in Owensboro at the Bathfitter Big O Music Fest, but he's been spending the early part of his summer doing great things with and for some great people through a very special Academy of Country Music initiative.

The program, called Lifting Lives--in conjunction with the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center for Excellence Developmental Disabilities--affords those with neurodevelopmental disorders, like Williams syndrome, the opportunity to enrich their lives through musical performance as well as education.

The Lifting Lives' research arm is also involved in the STUDY of Williams syndrome.

Last year, Luke Bryan, Big & Rich, Jana Kramer, and Brett Eldredge donated their time and efforts. And last week, Jake Owen, Love & Theft, and Lauren Alaina paid a visit. Talk about a VERY COOL way to spend part of your summer.
