Join the Fun of Owensboro’s 27th Annual GRADSA Buddy Walk
The Green River Area Down Syndrome Association also known as GRADSA is gearing up for the 27th Annual Buddy Walk. For almost thirty years now, Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, McLean, Ohio, Union, and Webster counties have come together to celebrate October's National Down Syndrome Awareness Month. As always, the community is invited to join in the fun!
“We’re excited to celebrate our incredible community and honor the remarkable individuals with Down syndrome. The Buddy Walk is our flagship annual fundraiser, powering essential programs that make a real difference in their lives. Join us for a day of fun, inclusion, and purpose, and discover why the Buddy Walk is the highlight of October!” said Natalie Love, Executive Director of GRADSA.
According to their website, "GRADSA’s mission is to enable families enriched with the Down syndrome connection to share resources, build friendships, and advocate together for the future of individuals with Down syndrome." Serving multiple counties, this annual Buddy Walk is a chance for everyone to come together as a community.
Saturday, October 19th, the day kicks off with a 5K run starting at 8 AM in downtown Owensboro to Moreland Park and back. Then, at 10 AM the party begins. Live performances from GRADSA’s Got Talent, Pop Stars, the Star Squad, and the Drums Crew. Enjoy this event with your family, fun inflatables, balloon twisting by Dr. Popper, yard games, and free food!
