Mangkok Filipino Cuisine is one of my favorite food trucks in the whole wide world. They travel all over, but I usually catch them at Street Eats & Treats on West Parrish Ave. in Owensboro, KY.

Street Eats & Treats of Western Kentucky

1741 W. Parrish Ave is the lot right next to the Dollar Tree where local food trucks and vendors set up to sell their delicious drinks, snacks, desserts, entrees, etc. You can stay and hang out, play games, eat at the colorful picnic tables, or just grab and go. If you stay, you'll get a feel for the amazing community that has blossomed there over the past year or so.

Owensboro Food Truck Community

Not just amongst the folks eating and having a good time, but also the food truck owners. They'll even hop in each other's kitchens to help out during busy spells! (Shout out to Marc from Mezze Street Kitchen! I see you!) Sometimes, there are also slow spells, and to pass the time, my friend Jerome (Romie) Hernandez of Mangkok shared a special talent I didn't know he had!

Mangkok Filipino Cuisine

Mangkok Filipino Cuisine is so fresh, bursting with bright flavors, cooked to perfection with love by Diovy, Romie's sweet and talented wife. I usually order the pork skewers, pansit, and lumpia, but the shrimp calls my name here and there. Pro-tip: If you have the chance to try one of their Ube desserts, you'd better take it!

Bruno Mars or Romie Hernandez?

Romie works the window, but he gets behind the grill too! If you're lucky, you may even get dinner AND a show. He used to be a DJ in the Philippines, but I didn't know he had some pipes! Saturday, he posted this video that had everyone asking, "Bruno Mars, who?"

GET IT, ROMIEEEEEE! If for some reason that won't play, you can click here. Just a little clip, but full of joy! That is Marc there too, keeping the beat with his earbuds. lol! It made me smile so big I just had to share! Maybe, if enough people like it, Romie will get out his DJ gear and REALLY put on a show.

You can follow Mangkok Filipino Cuisine on Facebook to see their weekly schedule and photos of their incredible food. "At Mangkok Filipino Cuisine, we’re more than just a food trailer; we’re a celebration of culture, community, and comfort food. Our name Mangkok means “bowl,” and every dish we serve is crafted with love, family traditions, and the bold, unforgettable flavors of the Philippines."

Trust me, you will NOT be disappointed!
