Do you hear that sound? The coach's whistle? The crunch of leaves under your feet? The sound of SILENCE in your home because the air conditioner is NOT kicking on? Yes, the best time of the year approaches, and I think I'm looking forward to it earlier than I have before.

The early part of the summer was great. But that amazing weather has been replaced by one storm system after another accompanied by high heat and humidity. It's usually August when I'm audible about wanting fall to arrive, but not this time.

2023 Kentucky Kick Off -- 'Blitzing the Boro'

And with the announcement of a major football event coming to Owensboro, I'm as psyched as I can be. Triple Crown Realty will present the 2023 Kentucky Kick Off - "Blitzing the Boro" on August 26th. It's a chance to meet some of the players--30 will be on hand for the event--enjoy some awesome photo ops, and hear their thoughts on the upcoming 2023 season. New UK quarterback Devin Leary--a transfer from NC State--will be among those in attendance (his interview begins at the 10-minute mark):

So will wide receiver Barion Brown who began the 2022 season with quite a flourish:

What to Expect at the 2023 Kentucky Kick Off

Receiver Dane Key, running back Ray Davis, and offensive tackle Deone Walker are among the other 28 Wildcats fans will have an opportunity to hang with and chat about the upcoming season.

A true UK football fan fest, the 2023 Kentucky Kick Off will also feature live music, plenty of food, and activities for guests of all ages.

As I write this, SEC Media Days are happening in Nashville with coaches, players, and representatives from across the conference leaving no stone unturned in discussions about the coming season.

So even thought college football isn't in full swing, it kind of is for diehard fans. As far as I'm concerned, the media days event and now "Blitzing the Boro" ARE a part of the 2023 football season, and I am pumped.

The 2023 Kentucky Kick Off -- "Blitzing the Boro" happens Saturday, August 26th from 1 PM to 4 PM at the Owensboro Sportscenter. Tickets will be available at owensborotickets.com.
