Kentucky Pizzeria Famous For Their 8-Pound Pizza & Delicious Freak Shakes [VIDEO]
There's a restaurant in Kentucky famous for a pizza so big we'll bet you can only eat one slice and wash it down with a milkshake.
WHAT IS STELLIAN'S?
Stellian's is a pizzeria located in Central City, Kentucky. If you blink you might actually miss the place but it is worth a stop. They put themselves on the map when they started serving up the 8-pound pizza. Each slice of pizza weighs in at one pound. They pile on the meats and cheese. No worries if you aren't a pizza kind of pizza (I mean but who isn't?) they also have a variety of other foods like wings, breadsticks, salads, and more.
There it is in all its glory the 8-pound pizza. I can almost bet you can't eat more than one whole piece. If you can I will be totally amazed. It's a lot.
Bringing in the brisket for the meat lovers.
If you're like me and don't always like to have a pizza you can get something on the lighter side like a Stellian's salad and some breadsticks.
STELLIAN'S FAMOUS FREAK SHAKES
Freak shakes are like a regular milkshake married a Dairy Queen Blizzard, and they rolled around in the candy and cookie aisle and got a little freaky if you will. These things are amazing. The first time I ever laid eyes on one I was almost didn't want to eat it because it looked like a work of art. That feeling quickly passed and I was devouring every single bite. When they first opened they only had two choices of Freak Shakes. Now they have a monthly special. This month they have an Easter-themed shake appropriately called "Chillin' With My Peeps" and you guessed it, it's made with Peeps Marshmallow Candy.
A few years ago they made a Strawberry Cheesecake Freak Shake and it had a whole piece of cake on top.
If you love chocolate their original freak shake is all the chocolatey goodness you can handle.
They are constantly thinking of new shakes to make and this one seems to have everything but the kitchen sink in it.
OUR FIRST EXPERIENCE AT STELLIAN'S
We ventured to Stellian's a few Spring Breaks ago with the family. My husband, Joe, loves pizza and could eat it for every meal. He and my son Braden were so prepared for the trip. They didn't eat all day and said they were going to take down the whole pizza. WRONGO!
One thing to know before you go is the pizza because of its size does take about 45 minutes to cook. Make sure you carve out time to enjoy the whole experience. You can't rush a trip to Stellian's. You need to take in the atmosphere and really get a feel for it all.
We went back this past summer for a double date night with our friends The Chilton's and ordered their Buffalo Chicken Pizza and it was amazing.
My kids love the shakes and always want to make the drive just to get one of those.
