The Best Kentucky Putt-Putt Courses — See Videos, Make Vacation Plans
It doesn't take much arm-twisting for me to head out to a miniature golf course. I love it. Always have...even when I was TERRIBLE at it. Today? It's gotten a lot better. But it's always been fun.
A few years ago, returning from vacation up north, we happened upon a really cool putt-putt course in northern Illinois called Volcano Falls Adventure Park. It wasn't a destination; we just saw it on a sign and decided to pull over and have some fun. And, boy, did we ever.
A PUTT-PUTT VACATION
It was then that I wondered about taking a cue from Courtney Cox and David Arquette. They're divorced now, but on their honeymoon, they toured the country visiting theme parks. I love that, and I figured "Why not do that with putt-putt courses?" And you wouldn't even leave Kentucky to experience some great ones. Maybe you could even do it this Saturday which is National Miniature Golf Day.
MAGGIE'S JUNGLE GOLF
For starters, you could head to the Kentucky Lake area and check out Maggie's Jungle Golf in Gilbertsville. I mean, why just play miniature golf when you can play miniature golf AND go on a jungle run AND hang with camels?
MALIBU JACK'S
Malibu Jack's in Louisville--there's also one in Lexington--offers THEMED mini-golf. It's tropical, which should come as no surprise with a name like that. And when you arrive, you get a menu of activities. Yep, putt-putt ain't just putt-putt anymore. Here's what I mean.
CHRISTIAN WAY FARM & MINI-GOLF
Outside of Walther's Golf & Fun in Evansville, I haven't been to multi-function entertainment facilities like these to play mini-golf, but I can see where it wouldn't be difficult to plan a vacation around them. And if you do, don't leave Christian Way Farm & Mini-Golf in Hopkinsville off your list. If you like the idea of putt-putt in a farm setting with a soundtrack of donkeys braying and cows mooing behind you, this course is for you. The course is impressive and it looks like tractors have replaced golf carts
KENTUCKY SHORES
You might be noticing the proximity of some of these putt-putt courses/entertainment complexes to Land Between the Lakes. I can't imagine that's an accident. And with a name like Kentucky Shores Family Fun Center, you could guess it's close to the lakes, and you would be right. In fact, it is ALSO in Gilbertsville, not very far from Maggie's Jungle Golf. But Kentucky Shores is different in many ways.
These are just a few highlights from a handy list of the best mini-golf courses in Kentucky provided by Trip Advisor and its user reviews. Hang on to these ideas; they might come in handy.
If I do say so myself, I LOVE the idea of making a vacation or a STAYcation out of putt-putt courses.
Have a great summer.
