A favorite road trip theme of mine is building a jaunt around a restaurant I've always wanted to visit. At first glance, that might sound crazy (and wasteful, in terms of gas), but what you do is you find other cool places to visit wherever that restaurant is.

Restaurants Showcased on Food Series

One of the best prompts, for lack of a better word, is television or streaming platform exposure. I can't be the only one who's watched food shows that spotlight restaurants and wanted to visit each and every one.

Series like Bizarre Foods America or Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives specialize in throwing the focus on unique and critically-acclaimed local eateries across the country. If Food Network producers and creators have "foodie road trips" in the backs of their minds with these popular shows, that wouldn't surprise me at all.

Kentucky Restaurants Featured on TV

The Commonwealth has welcomed food television hosts many times, particularly Guy Fieri, who once brought his "Triple D" crew to Lexington to spotlight the iconic Parkette Drive-In. It's the kind of old-school joint you see nearly anywhere you go in this country. Unfortunately, it closed its doors in 2022.

Kentucky has been well-represented on a number of television series, and not just on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Check out the list:
