These Are Kentucky’s Top Theme Parks for 2026
April has arrived, and so have thoughts of theme park and water park vacation planning, right? Or maybe just a fun-filled weekend. The parks you're about to see are happy to oblige as they prepare to begin their 2026 seasons.
The Top 10 Kentucky Theme Parks
The invaluable TripAdvisor provides us with a list of the top-rated theme parks in Kentucky. But first, you should understand that the site's rankings are not solely based on star ratings. TripAdvisor incorporates a "Popularity Index" that weighs multiple factors like the recency of reviews, the number of reviews, and how positive the reviews have been over time. That's why you'll see a lower number ranked higher than a higher number in many of TripAdvisor's rankings. So let's dig in and see where we're going this spring and summer.
#10 - Falling Springs Water Park
Falling Springs in Versailles isn't just a water park. There are also special camps, programs for adults and youth, sports fields, disc golf, tennis, pickleball, and basketball. You might also call it a recreation center.

Part of the Preston Miller Disc Golf Course, this Bowling Green attraction is geared more toward kids and features a splash playground, 50-meter pool, slides, and concessions.

Tucked away in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Williamsburg, Kentucky Splash Water Park and Campground will celebrate its 25th anniversary this season. #5 - Beech Bend Park & Splash Lagoon
Talk about a Kentucky icon. I have so many great memories of visiting Beech Bend in Bowling Green when I was a kid. The water park, the coasters and other rides, the raceway...you name it. What a blast. It opened in 1898, so this legendary destination predates all of us.
Rating - 3.9/429
What they're saying..."For kids this is absolutely the best thing you can do in Bowling Green. When you arrive spend time riding the rides in the amusement park section. When you’ve had enough fun on the rides head to the water park. Grab an umbrella table for some shade. The water slides are great! As are the lazy river and wave pool." - bn23
#4 - Venture River Family Water Park
First of all, Venture River Family Water Park is in the perfect location in Eddyville, as it's part of what I call the whole "Kentucky Lake Entertainment Complex." It isn't huge, but it is dense. By that, I mean the park beautifully maximizes space for all its water parks and pools. When it's opened, it's packed.
Rating - 4.3/83
What they're saying..."It has all you could want in a water park: kids area, lazy river (a 2nd larger lazy river is being constructed right now), slides, etc." - kredenza

If you're a mini-golf lover, you will be in heaven at Maggie's Jungle Golf & Jungle Run. If you're an animal lover, you will be in heaven. Seriously, don't be surprised if a camel joins you for a round.

The goats even tried to join us in our golf cart to get at the food. good times. peacocks, turkeys, goats and donkeys along with miniature horses. The camel had decided to hang out in his enclosure." - nathane508
#2 - Kentucky Kingdom
The Commonwealth's largest theme park, Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville, is a world-class theme park loaded with all the kinds of rides you love, including award-winning coasters. The water park, Hurricane Bay, is also next level.

What they're saying..."I took a road trip here from NY with my 17 year old son. Great location for a park- close to the airport and hotels. We went there on a Tuesday in July and the wait times were not bad at all- even at the water park. I like how the water park admission is included and since the water park is in the middle of the park we were able to go back and forth between water rides and roller coasters."
#1 - Malibu Jacks - Ashland
Rain or shine, Malibu Jacks is ready to entertain you. The indoor park is packed with attractions like laser tag, Malibu golf, go karts, and the Twist-n-Shout Coaster. Dark Ride will take up to eight players on a wild 4D adventure, while the immersive X-Rider will thrill guests with multi-sensory effects and 3D visuals.
