2025 Tornado Activity Already Breaking Records in Western Kentucky

2025 is shaping up to be a record-breaking year for tornadoes here in western Kentucky. So far this year, the National Weather Service in Paducah confirms that 41 tornadoes have touched down in their 58-county region. The amount of territory those twisters have covered is an all-time record. And, it's only April!

Kathy Albin, who lives in Daviess County, Kentucky, is fully aware of what appears to be a significant shift in Tornado Alley. Most meteorologists and climate scientists believe that tornado activity is shifting to the east. Our recent outbreak of tornadoes certainly provides some proof to that theory. Kathy has paid attention to those warnings and recently purchased a tornado shelter.

Integrity Storm Shelters Keeps Kentucky Families Safe

Integrity Storm Shelters has been outfitting families and businesses in western Kentucky, southern Indiana and southern Illinois for nearly a decade. They recently installed a shelter at Kathy's home in the Masonville area. They're essentially fiberglass shelters that get installed underground. Ashley, Kathy's daughter, says they "look like a big stomach.

“Text Me When the Tornado’s Over”

Ashley says she knew her mom was safe and sound. Kathy sent her a message and asked Ashley to text her when the tornado threat was over. Ashley says, "She didn't even have a radio down there to listen to storm coverage."

Of course, when you have a fully stocked Bloody Mary bar, who needs storm coverage?
